Starbucks Ethiopia

When I picked up this and tried it was 3 months old which is kind of good among regular coffee brand. Best-before date was 8 months which also, although differing from Starbucks Casi Cielo, is good among regular coffee brands. For the testing I did a 4 minutes steep in a french press pot and a V60 filter drip.

4 minutes french press: As the other Starbucks coffee I tried it was quite OK for a regular coffee but as the other one it was surprisingly dark roasted for a "medium roasted" coffee. Done with french press it had more tastes than with V60, especially the cocoa-like tastes came forward. The balance was in some ways better than V60, e g less burnt and more of dark roasted to the taste. The after taste had a little to much bitterness though.

V60 filter drip: The coffee was slightly burnt to the taste but not unpleasantly so. It also had some sweetness and fruitiness to balance that. It gave me associations to Zoega's coffee beans and also to turkish coffee.

When the coffee cools down, both types, it's not so pleasant though, the bitter and burnt taste overwhelm the other tastes. It's probably not a good cold brew coffee.
