Some time ago several Swedish roasters had Shakiso mormora at the same time or at least during the same summer. Tjat was interating to compare and Shakiso mormora was my favourite that year. Now da Matteo, Drop Coffee and Johan & Nyström no longer have but Kahls kaffe has a new batch out so I thought I'd revisit it. I did two brewings; two minutes and four minutes. It's a coarse ground and made in a french press. The coffee was about five months old when tested. Water 90 degrees Celsius.2 minutes: Round soft berry kind of taste, slight tones of earth.
4 minutes: This was much as two minutes brew but with more taste. I think the taste actually became slightly sweeter.
Both brewings do good when cooling down although there start to appear a kind of acidious taste that I'm not so fond of. Over all I think Kahls kaffe is a little to hot on the roaster and slightly over-do their job (although not near e g Zoega's). It was also clear that summer when so many had Shakiso mormosa that Drop Coffee, Johan& Nyström and da Matteo are at a higher level than Kahls. On the other hand, Kahls kaffe is easier to find and not so expensive so for regular coffee it's a good choice.
